absolutely great, highly effective in encoding dvd files into mp4 (and it automatically merges the movie, unlike other software i have tried)
the one and the only program i have used that seems to do everything right, i just hope they release a revised windows version!

It doesn't work for windows on my computer. does it work with a DELL computer or just apple computers?
i converted an already ripped dvd from my hard drive to mp4. most of the program options seem to be unavailable. it converted to a very small file which is playable on my pc but will NOT transfer to my ipod video 30gb. i can then use itunes to convert the file and transfer to the ipod but OMG the process takes a little longer than forever!
when i rip a dvd, sometimes it will only play about 18 to 20mins of the dvd, while others will play the whole dvd,,,,Why is this? am i doing something wrong?
to all the other anonymous people who couldn't get this to work right - it's called google. seriously. use it.
Its telling me that it couldent find a title. I Put the dvd in and then open handbrake and then click browse and then click on the movie and then a red X comes up and said it couldent find the title
I saved the file, but now i dont know ho to open it with. I then tried to delet it but cant! im using windows xp. can someone help??
Love it!! i have windows vista..the only thing is u have to downlaod another program called dvd48 for handbrake to work...and da other thing i takes SO long for it to finish!! but other than dat its really cool

Handbreak is awesome! I've had no problem ripping my dvds with amazing quality. I'm waiting for them to come out with a Blue Ray ripper, now that would be sweet! It seems all of you that are having problems are running windows, hmm....get a MAC!

When i tried to download the software it told me that the software had a trojan horse virus, so I did not down load the software. I think someone is trying to steal some information. BE CAREFUL DOWNLOADING AND USING THIS SOFTWARE!!!!
I never had much luck with Handbrake on a PC. I switched over to a mac about 4 years ago and everything just worked... Ive never had the errors that are so rampant with PCs or Window's software. Ive got MCSE certification and know the ins and outs of Windows and still I must say that Macs are exactly what they are cracked up to be- Get a Mac. Handbrake will take care of the anything you throw at it on a Mac...
i have it and i love it, it works great with vista and i think its the best way to go to get movies, and the only thing you need to get with handbrake is dvd shrink it works great the only thing bad about the whole thing is that it take like 1 hour to 2 hours to encode it but what ever.
Works fantastic on my mac and so very easy, if things don't work, you want a computer that doesn't crash, suffer from viruses, worms etc and you want a far less stressful life GET A MAC! (there's no going back).
Hello all . . . new Handbrake (Windows) user. I am trying to encode episodes of a sitcom from DVD for playback on my iPod Touch. Not quite working. Is the process the same (with the exception of choosing longest title/chapter) as a movie? All the episodes are relatively the same length. HELP!!!!!!
I couldn't get the GUI to download at all - got a windows security setting. tried to adjust settings.
Tried the CLI and unzipped it. but window appears for half a second and then goes away... any ideas?
