Free on iTunes: Battlestar Galactica The Story So Far
With the premiere of season 3 of Battlestar Galactica just two weeks away (October 6th), the Sci Fi Channel (US) has released a free retrospective episode of the first two seasons of Battlestar Galactica on iTunes. They hope to entice new viewers to the show, as well as remind current fans just where the series left off.I found this official press release on ScFi.com:
SCI FI Channel and its sister NBC Universal networks will air a one-hour recap special of the original series Battlestar Galactica in advance of the show's October third-season premiere. Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far will incorporate footage from the original SCI FI miniseries and the previous two seasons of the Peabody Award-winning series. The special will be narrated from the point of view of Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell), the resistance leader on Cylon-occupied New Caprica.Throughout September, The Story So Far will also be made available for download via iTunes and XBox Live and will be distributed at Best Buy as a bonus DVD with the Battlestar Galactica season 2.5 DVD set and other genre titles from Universal Home Video. The DVD will also be distributed to visitors to the Universal Studios theme parks, and snippets of the special will be available on YouTube.com, Google Video and other video portal sites.

BG is my fav scifi show since B5. the Babylon 5 plot is fucking perfect. The story arc is so well thought out every episode is connected to every other one. Battlestar owes alot to Babylon 5 so does Lost probably for how crazy the minor details get. And me being relativley young and watching it along time after it aired, still managed to get over the 1994 special effects in season 1 and thats all it takes.. your hooked.
Either way not worth a debate between shows they were made 10 years apart, but Babylon 5 is definatley worth checking out if you have some spare bandwidth or dollars for the dvd sets.

I saw one episode of this on Sci-Fi randomly one day, and I thought, "Oh, it's that guy from Bridget Jones's Diary!" I wanted to keep watching the series, but it's nearly impossible with this kind of show to just jump in during season 2. I'm glad there's a re-hash because I didn't want to buy a DVD set only to hate the show or get bored. They really ought to do more of these on iTunes.

In a time when so-called MC's rap about their bank accounts or invent the latest dance craze to sell records, Lupe Fiasco is on the other side of the spectrum. It's refreshing to find a mainstream rapper dealing with non-commercial issues with the passion and sheer lyrical skill that Lupe exemplifies.
