MySpace To Buy Photobucket

MySpace is smart to make nice with PhotoBucket. According to web stat company Hitwise, "Photobucket Accounts for 73% of MySpace’s Photo-Related Traffic." And many savvy web users have been using Photobucket as a web marketing tool.
Rumors of the deal first surfaced last weekend on the tech gossip site Valleywag.

Mike Arrington at TechCrunch says he has been able to confirm the deal with some "senior people" (the Valleywag rumour was apparently the work of an "overzealous employee, according to Mike), and the price is $250-million. Not bad for something that had revenue of about $6-million last year. Pete Cashmore at Mashable says that he has also confirmed the deal is happening.
