Was Drunken Hasselhoff YouTube Video - Just Autobiography Promotion
I thought there was something fishy about this David Hasselhoff drunk tape nonsense. It smelled like very clever publicity to me, though why anyone would want to be filmed drunk and slobbering over a Wendy's cheeseburger and potentially hurt his relations with his family is a mystery.But guess what? The Hoff has an autobiography coming out May 15! I'm sure the drunken video is just a coincidence right?!
The book title, by the way, is Don't Hassle The Hoff.
The book has a lot of (supposedly) juicy details, including Hasselhoff's revelation that he knows that Baywatch was a sexist show.

To even think someone would release such apathetic and lurid video as a promotional device strikes me as bizarre. If this were a private person, this video would be seen as nothing but sad. Instead, we all feel free to objectify the celebrity because hey, he's not a real person, he's the Knight Rider etc. As a result, this becomes a form of pornography. What is happening to the level of our discourse? Have we become so course, shallow and cynical that we wallow in this voyeurism? Disgusting.
