Harry Potter Tops Box Office
Apparently JK Rowling and Warner Brothers have a Money Printing Spell. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" whisked its way to No. 1 at movie box offices with weekend ticket sales of $77.4 million and a five-day total of just over $140 million, according to studio estimates on Sunday.

Lots of people are saying Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was the biggest disappointment this year:

i've read reviews saying that this HP film was one of the best. i disagree. i found it to be one of the more boring movies of the lot and was squirming through much of the film. i thought the scenes were badly lit and the darkness to be gratuitous rather than serving to emphasize the mood of the film. sadly, even the payoff scenes were disappointing as i had a hard time following the action amidst the overly plentiful amount of characters in those scenes.
maybe they try to cram too much into each movie? maybe some of the books warrant two films instead of one. yet that solution is problematic as well because all the dialogue calling Harry Potter "a child" was stupefying after a while given how the actor playing him now appears to be a full adult.
oh well, Voldemort was great and the villainess put my teeth on edge as she is supposed to do. finally, the kiddies get to see a type of villain they'll be likely to encounter in the real world!

this was the worse of the Harry Potter movies. Perhaps because with all the previous ones I saw the movie, then read the book. But with OOTP I had read it, then saw the movie. Not sure who/where to pick on but maybe it should start at the director. I kinda had the feeling that Dan (Harry) didn't want to be there. The best character development/representation was for Umbridge. Too many plot lines were ignored or changed for time limitations. Maybe they can cut out the 10 minutes of commercials at the beggining and make the movie 3 hours to do it justice. Hopefully they will learn and make the next two more like PoA.
Oh goodness! I can't wait. Very excited to see new stuff about the movie. Even though we should already have seen the movie itself by now! But.. I bet it will be worth the wait! :)
