AT&T Offers Free Wildfire WiFi
About 600 locations total will participate. The offer began on October 27th and will last a several weeks.
It's a very nice gesture, especially for people who lost their homes and need to reconnect online and get their life back in order. But I'm not exactly sure why AT&T is offering T-Mobile's service for free. Weird right?

Did another major telecom merger happen and I missed it? Or is AT&T just offering other people's products for free? Maybe I'll take a walk down 5th Avenue at lunch time and tell people that AT&T says they can get a free copy of OS X Leopard at the Apple Store.
Think it will work?

This is a case of one of the country's biggest corporations trying to make themselves appear human. They stick it to millions of US residents every month and maybe people will forget all about that when they see this kind offer that will cost them....absolutely nothing. Seriously. What to WiFi providers actually provide you? A link to something that already exists that they had nothing to do with.
Yes, it's nice that they're doing it. Do I forgive them for the repeated beatings they've given me over the years? Absolutely not...this company is run and operated by droids and bots. You can't even get a hold of a real person to make your case when they screw up your bill.

and all in the name of PR. They just wrote it off and didn't lose a dime. Never trust a corporate entity. Yes, it's nice they did it, but it was also good PR. A company that attempts to do it under the radar will receive my full commendations.
