Terrible Star Wars Trumpet Solo
I've been a rabid Star Wars fan for thirty years now. Today I learned to hate Star Wars. This video is what did it.
Sometimes you hope for the performers' sake there's a sniper waiting in the balcony to put them out of everyone's misery in case they suck so bad it hurts.
In defense of Stacy. The problem was that the background track was played at the wrong speed. If you listen, the track is playing in the key of B major (concert key) It should have been in C major ( D for trumpet) The key that Stacy was indeed playing in. However the fact that she couldn't hear the jarring discord sems to preclude a concert soloist career. Even if she did hear that she was in the wrong key, she would have had to be a much better musician than she was to transpose the melody to C# for the trumpet. She obviously learned the solo by rote. The problem was with the technology and it has left her open to a lot more ridicule than this lovely young lady deserved
Blaming that performance on a key error is giving "this lovely young lady" much more credit than she deserves. If she put the effort into learning the dance and the trumpet part, I seriously doubt that that performance was her first time trying it with the track...and anyone who can smile like that after giving people epilepsy's from their music /does/ deserve to be shot by a sniper...
