How to Add Icons to Your OS X Menu Bar
A Menu Extra in the Mac OS X, is a small icon that appears on the right side of the Menu Bar. For example, check out the image of the Eject icon to the right of this text that's circled in red.Mac OS X Menu Bar Extras often...
- provide a quick and easy way to access common features (chat, sync)

- control system functions (volume, eject a DVD/CD)

...is there a good hack that allows the mixing (cmd-dragging) of Apple extras and 3rd party extras? Some of mine seem to allow it, others don't.
So how would I go about writing my own? They seem to just be regular .app files with the .menu extension. So are there any ways to make one without writing coca / objective C? Like a widget can be an ajax app. Can I do the same to make a menu extra??
