Thanks, worked perfectly and you guys came up #1 on google search - no wasted time. May I suggest a FAQ database since you get repetitive stupid questions?

btw anyone buying a sony hard drive recorder with built in freeview steer well clear - it's completely unstable - you'd be better off with a cheaper machine - you may still get probs (i've had a few diff models) but at least you won't suffer the pain of spending all that mula for basically their advertising budget and little else in the way of refinement and reliabilty - and the sony os is el crappo too compared to others i've had :-(

My iPod history is full of sadness and disaster... I have always tried to love my Pod to my best ability, and count it among my treasured possessions.. However whilst my love has remained steadfast, my iPod has not. I have been the owner of four iPods in as many years - tradgedy has struck each time mercilessly. Even before a Pod has played its final sad song, it has pushed my love to the limit for months on end.. I was on the brink of heartbreak when last week my current pod left me for dead... Travelling in Argentina, I had no chance of rescue and even after years of experience it seemed nothing could be done.... Until you.
MethodShop, I thank you. From now on, I know whenever i hear the painful cry of a fellow Pod-er I shall save them from sufferance and say the name MethodShop with pride.

im sorry, but your whole spill on having a broken screen is pretty dumb and franklin pointless. if the user has a guarantee then it would be they way to go but they would already know it. you should be showing people how to purchase an lcd online and replace it. thats an easy and cheap way to get around the problem. that is something tht will actually be a benefit to your users. sending the device in and paying to have it fixed by the manufacturer is pretty much common sence.
and as you said. noone is going to pay over 100 bucks to fix a 100 dollar pda.

My IPOD was frozen on DO NOT DISCONNECT and it would not charge or be recognized by my computer. I tried the methods APPLE suggests and nothing worked. MethodShop told me to hold dowm my "Menu" and "Center Button" at the same time for 10 secs. Worked like a charm. YOU ROCK!I was getting ready to ship it in for service
My iPod Nano was frozen and I just happened to find your site under Google. Your advice was perfect and fixed the problem. I had first gone to Best Buy and the Geek Squad offered no assistance other than sending it back to the company for $$$$$. Many thanks - your advice was fantastic!
