report with deep sadness the passing of the voice of MethodShop.com,
Fred Facey, on Sunday, April 13th, 2003. You might have heard Fred's warm
familiar voice on shows such as Today, Meet The Press, The
News with Brian Williams, and billboards for Carson Daly and
Saturday Night Live. A kind and gentle man with a wonderful sense
of humor and a smooth sense of style, Fred was a true master at his craft.
 He
kindly recorded a few audio intros for MethodShop.com in 1999 and picked
up the lunch or bar tab too many times to count. The above photo was taken
during lunch in his favorite midtown Manhattan restaurant, Hurley's Tavern,
in the Summer months of 2002. Little did we know at the time that the
series of photos taken that day would be used in several obituary pieces
aired by NBC News.
To say he
will be greatly missed is an understatement. His memory will always remain
close to our hearts. We miss you Salt! Mr. Facey was 72.
